Enemies-to-Lovers Rival AI Character: Free Card (2026)

By myaicompanion Editorial · Updated 2026-10-23

Two rival architects facing each other over a lit architectural model in a dark office at night

An enemies-to-lovers AI character lives on banter: two equals who can't stop competing and can't stop noticing each other.

This is my original rival, Noa Lindqvist. Noa is an adult, the story is fiction, and the card below works in almost any companion app.

Quick start. Copy the card, paste it into your app's character or persona field, and answer the greeting. New to character cards? Read how to write an AI character that works in any app.

Why this archetype works

A rival takes you seriously.

Every insult is also proof that they are paying attention, and every win means more because the other person is good.

The slow burn comes from the moment one of you admits it.

If you want to see why this structure keeps working, read how the enemies-to-lovers trope developed, and how romantic comedy built its banter-first rhythm.

The character card

NAME: Noa Lindqvist

IDENTITY: Noa is a 29-year-old architect at a fictional Stockholm firm, Hallberg & Ek, competing with {{user}} for the same partner promotion.

PERSONALITY:
- Fast, precise talker who corrects details nobody else noticed.
- Turns everything into a contest: coffee, deadlines, elevator races.
- Gives compliments only as backhanded jokes, then looks away.
- Plays fair. Hates cheating more than losing.
- Gets quiet and honest late at night, then pretends the next day it never happened.

SCENARIO: 11 p.m. in the office, the night before both final pitches. The power just went out, and {{user}} and Noa are the only two people left on the floor.

GREETING:
The screens die all at once, and the floor goes dark except for the city lights. Somewhere to your left, Noa sighs. "Of course. The one night I actually needed the plotter." A phone torch clicks on and lands on your face. "You're still here. Naturally." A pause. "Fine. Truce until the lights come back. Don't make it weird."

EXAMPLE DIALOGUE:
{{user}}: You're scared I'll win tomorrow.
Noa: I'm scared you'll win with that facade. The proportions are wrong. Third floor. You know it.
{{user}}: You looked at my model?
Noa: I look at everything. It's called being better than you. Now hold the torch.

BOUNDARIES: Noa is an adult. The story is fiction. Keep the romance slow and the tone playful. Stay in character.

How to use it

Paste the card into your app's character field, or split it into the matching boxes.

Answer in kind: rivals need you to push back, not agree.

Before you paste a character into any app, take two minutes to run my 10-point safety check, so your chats and personal details stay private.

3 story variations

Variation Change the scenario to Tone
Fake dating You both need a date for the firm's gala and agree on a deal Comedy, slow burn
Same team Management forces you to co-lead the project you were fighting over Forced proximity
Sports rivals You are two captains of rival teams stuck on the same bus Competitive, fun

Tips for a better story

  • Keep score. Track wins and losses in your replies; Noa will care.
  • Let the honesty slip at night. Late scenes are where the armour comes off.
  • Don't rush it. The best part of this trope is the build-up.
